The latest Shroud of the Avatar newsletter has arrived hot in our mailboxes. This week, the community is celebrated, a pair of design diaries are included as well as news about the Summer Telethon and how localization efforts are going. Of particular note is a new diary showing off big changes to the Moondial to better reflect the reordered night sky as well as to add new effects.
The moondial has been a work in progress, both from a visual and coding perspective. After the constellations in the night sky were reordered, the Moondial needed updating. Now called the "ornate" Moondial, it now comes in a variety of sizes from tabletop to gigantic.
Two design diaries are packed with screenshots and text providing information behind the scenes of the development process. The first deals with the making of the Sequanna Colossus (seen above) and the second about the placement of treasures and puzzles in Blood Bay.
Other news items include:
- the continuation of the free trial through May 31st
- Summer Telethon dated for May 31st
- Localization continues with all languages making good progress
