Among Us is getting a Hide and Seek mode tomorrow, Innersloth announced at The Game Awards. While the mode had been previously revealed, the release date was revealed tonight, and clearly, it’s super soon.
While the game originally came out in 2018, it was the global shutdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic that really made it explode in popularity. The update that brings the Hide n Seek mode will also include a number of other surprises. You’ll even be able to pet your pets, an important game mechanic, of course.
The new mode follows the recent release of Among Us VR edition. Now, with the new mode, you can dedicate all of your energy to efforts to do your best to hide and escape. This changes up the standard game of Among Us in a couple of ways, which has a killer trying to attempt to take down as many crew mates as possible, while they try to hide. You can also now use vents to hide, as shown in the trailer.

The mode certainly looks like it will continue the strategic gameplay inherent in the original, but add a bit more action, and with a dash of, in Innersloth’s own words, “screaming”. It's not exactly the children's game you remember.
