Amazon Games and NCSoft are getting ready for Throne and Liberty’s early access on September 26th. There’s a new team letter detailing how the team listened to feedback, new features, and changes since open beta to prepare us all for launch.

The team has been working with NCSoft for more than a year and a half to get things right for the Western release. Some of the changes include a streamlined and overhauled leveling process to be better paced and less slow, better explanation and tooltips to make getting started with new systems clearer, and to make the process more engaging overall. They've also added a number of quest types that go beyond just going out into the field and slaying monsters. Expect improved gear progression and rewards structure.

Skill Specialization is part of combat and build diversity during the progression journey. Being able to customize your play includes an increased skill cap of 24 active abilities per weapon combo, passive bonuses from armor sets, and additional combat improvements that stretch to camera settings and controls as well as things like permanent crowd-control breakers for the feel of gameplay.

PvP fairness and balance are highlighted. Power scaling  happens in lower level zones, there are some Guild Alliance restrictions, fairness changes that apply to Dynamic Events, and even 1v1 Conquest battles to make sure there's an option for a fair fight. When it comes to trade, some crafting materials are non-tradable to be fairer, drop rates are higher in certain areas to make sure solo players aren't left out.

There's new content coming at launch including, new 3v3 Arena PVP, and more PvE content, as players requested, by way of new co-op dungeons, The Gate of Infinity and Amitoi Expeditions, where your Amitoi pets can barring back useful items. Also on the PVE front are co-op dynamic events, cooking and fishing systems, and a series of weekly missions.

The team has addressed the topic of premium currency Lucent,  both its role in the auction house and the distribution of rewards across activities. The minimum level to access the auction house will be level 40.

There are also a series of quality of life improvements like the addition of cross server matchmaking, clustered auction houses across servers for additional economic stability, and no XP or debuff penalties on death.

Expect more details when early access is here.
