Amazon Games and NCSoft are continuing to address issues with the new Throne and Liberty update, with widespread interruptions, disconnects, and a series of bugs. The issues are such that the game has been put back into maintenance mode while they continue to address the instability.
The patch downtime was originally scheduled to end at 4:00 a.m. PT but had to be extended. After a couple of optimistic updates, maintenance continued into today, with the PC maintenance ending first and console maintenance originally supposed to come up four hours later.
They attempted to bring up the PC servers, promising compensation for the extended downtime, but unfortunately reports started pouring in about more stability issues, lower combat power than there should have been, and a number of disconnects across different servers. Clearly, something still was not right.
The interruptions were so disruptive that the game is back in maintenance mode while they address the issues. According to the most recent statement over on the TLGameStatus account, we can look forward to hourly updates until the issues have been fixed and tested.
“The AGS and NCSOFT teams have been working around the clock to address the issues related to today’s game update.
We’ve made the decision to move the game back into maintenance at 2:30 pm PT while we fix the stability issues. Gameplay interruptions like this are always regrettable but we’re committed to restoring functionality. Once we have resolved the stability issues, we will make the game available for all platforms.
We’ll provide hourly updates going forward and are preparing compensation. Thanks for your reports and patience.”
The community has responded in a predictable variety of ways to the statement, including some being patient, others wondering what kind of compensation is on the way, and others skeptical about the update and the future of the game.
