Season 2 of Aliens: Fireteam Elite is coming for players with new cosmetics, weapons, a new game mode and even more. On top of that, GamePass members will be happy to know that the survival shooter is coming to Xbox GamePass on December 14th.

Since launching earlier this year, the team at Cold Iron Studios has promised what has become industry standard for live services games and is releasing seasonal updates. Season 2 is almost upon us with the inclusion of new weapons, cosmetics and even more.

One of the major additions this update will be a new game mode, Point Defense, for players to tackle. Players will need to protect, hold and repair strategic threats throughout the map, holding them against the the xenomorph threat.

"Challenge your Fireteam with a new survival-based defensive game mode where you must protect, repair, and hold 3 strategic points through attack waves from the xenomorph threat. Use Fabrication Points earned during each wave to buy temporary Consumables and help your team survive the next attack. As you succeed at various difficulty levels, you’ll unlock all 13 new attachments, the “Come at me” “Noodle Arms” and “Cower” emotes, the ferocious Dragon decal in all 3 colors (Vermillion, Azure, and White), and the spine-chilling Exoskeletal Laminate colorway."

Alongside Season 2, Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be hitting Xbox Game Pass for both the console and Windows 10, assuming you use the Microsoft Store version. Players will be able to grab the game and also have access to the new Season 2 content as soon as it hits on GamePass as well. The current roadmap shows two more planned seasons at least, with the next coming in Q2 2022 and Season 4 scheduled tentatively sheduled for Q3 2022, which will also feature a new game mode as well.

You can check out the full details of the update on the Aliens: Fireteam Elite website for more details. In our review, although we felt the game was full of hit or misses, it stays faithful to the franchise and brings with it intense combat action. Check out our review here.
