Wild Blood is here to change Albion Online. The update goes live today, with a number of interconnected systems like Shapeshifter Weapons, Tracking across the open world, a revamp of personal islands, and much more.
The many changes in this update are designed to give players more build options, to encourage more play across the open world, and introduce some more layers to top gear. You’ll be able to get new resources and new alchemical ingredients. Through these new systems, you can make Shapeshifter Weapons, a new staff line, and create Awakened items. You'll be able to add new traits to Awakened weapons over time, and if you lose any of them in combat, they will persist in the world as rare loot so you'll make your mark on the game in one way or another.
Shapeshifter Weapons work alongside hunting down and slaying target creatures via Tracking, which gets you the resources necessary to create a new staff to let you transform. Launching with seven possible creatures to transform into, When you transform, your abilities will reflect the creature you've changed into. Your regular build might be more of a glass cannon, but then you may transform into a creature that is more tanky.
You can now own up to seven personal islands, which will visually resemble the city that they are linked to. This means the city's biome, aesthetics, architecture, and atmosphere will reflect upon your island. Personal islands also have new farming bonuses and advantages that you'll have to work out in order to maximize your output using the bonus modifiers. These changes not only give you more options for raising crops or animals, they potentially increased trade too.
Randomized dungeons also get some reworks and visual improvements, Aim that increasing the variety of dungeon layouts, improving visuals and lighting, and making the terrain blend together more smoothly. There's also a rare chance to encounter colossi and titans from the Living Legacy anniversary event in every randomized engine.
A few other changes also made it in, including a quick overview death recap, new mob camp variants in the Roads of Avalon, mobile and controller optimizations, and improvements to the marketplace.
