Albion Online’s next update, Paths to Glory, will go live on July 22nd. This update introduces the Albion Journal, the game’s new achievement system, updates to the Roads of Avalon, expands Tracking, adds more Crystal Weapons, and more.
With this next big update, the Albion Journal will be key to earning various rewards, keeping an eye on your progress, and setting goals to complete. The journal will have missions that apply to every stage of the game, divided into five categories - Economy, Exploration, Gathering, PvE and PvP. Under each of these categories, you'll find various missions to complete along with the reward you'll get for doing them.
This is effectively an Albion Online battle pass type system. As you progress, individual missions will give you things like silver and Tomes of Insight and overall category rewards will include cosmetics.
Paths to Glory will also let guilds own multiple islands, with one in each Royal City and Caerlon possible, with each reflecting their host city’s biome. There are a few changes to combat, in addition to new Crystal Weapons arriving. All weapon skills will be available from Tier 4 onwards for each weapon. You’ll also be able to overcharge weapons twice for a longer boost if you’re willing to risk a higher chance of breakage.
As for the Roads of Avalon, Back the zones and content to be rebalanced to make them more competitive and to also continue to support smaller groups. The Roads will now also be open to Tracking within the zone, and team is adding a new Rare Quarry to track: Shadowmask.
In addition, the Roads of Avalon–and the rest of the open world–will get new dynamic spawn rates. What this means is that the mobs, resources, and even the amount of treasure you can potentially find on each server will change throughout the day based on the activity levels on that server. If it’s an especially busy day, expect the number of resources to grow, and also the mob spawns.
These and more changes are on the way July 22nd.
