Albion Online’s new European/MENA server is officially open, bringing a new fresh start option for the open world sandbox.
Opening a server to serve the Europe and MENA regions is designed to improve ping and stability for those in the region. The fresh-start server features its own schedules for prime time and events and should make things easier to connect for those in the region. Playing on the new server isn't region locked, so anyone can play on it. If you’re joining from outside, adjusting to the server schedule is not the only adjustment. If the ping isn’t an issue, there are a few temporary changes just for the launch.
Similar to when Sandbox Interactive opened up Albion Asia, there are a few conditions in place just to get things started. Initially, some of the zones will be inaccessible to reduce the world size until more players start or move to the server and the team makes sure they have good enough player density for PvP. The team has seeded a few items on the marketplace, including a few (high priced) Crystal Shards. The team has also taken some of the crafting plots and others in order to let things roll out as they observe. As of right now, they're planning to expand the world a little more in about eight days.
If you want the bonuses and limited cosmetics from the Founder packs but didn’t get around to picking one up in time for early access, those will remain available until June 3rd. There's also a Twitch Drops opportunity to earn yourself the new Brown Alpaca skin for the Stag if you watch 15 hours of streams from officially listed Albion Online creators.
Finally, the Albion Online team wanted to launch a new server and a fresh start adventure with a music video. The song, from Austrian metal band Dragony, is called “The Untold Story”.
