Albion Online’s game director, Robin Henkys, has a new Q&A dev video, answering questions from the community, responding to feedback, as well as anti cheat improvements, and potential future updates.
One of the initial topics that come up is the desire for more Q and W combo skills and improved passives that will help solidify weapon identities. The combat team will continue to review mechanics and potentially add new combo abilities where they are needed, passives are something that doesn't have a timeline on, but they are planning a major overhaul there.
Anti-cheat improvements also get some time, and they are working on potential security improvements and a technical solution that doesn't conflict and impair high performance in large-scale battles. They have made lots of progress and banned a number of cheaters, but they're still working on better solutions. Still, the performance needs to not suffer under the fixes.
One of the big lines of improvements the team has been working on in more recent patches, including in Paths to Glory, are improved solo player experience changes. There are some loot changes on the way, and the next update promises improvements to the solo open world experience and the solo experience overall.
We can also look forward to improved rewards in safer zones, some tweaks to PVE content to maintain the challenge while also making it worth the time to take on those challenges. Some other suggestions came up like adding new modes like 3v3 for certain content, but Some of these might not be feasible and could spread the player base to thin to be functional.
The Albion Online team is focused on trying to refine existing features, and to continue to balance the game to offer solo players and group players content that is fun and challenging and adequately rewarding.
The full Q&A is worth watching if you’re curious about specific responses. Overall, it seems that the team will continue to try and make the best of all their existing features one and listen to community feedback.
