Albion Online will be launching on the Epic Games Store later this month, and you can play on Windows and Mac OS through this release. If you're considering playing via Epic, there are a few things to know.
The launch is coming in two weeks, on April 16th, and this is being billed by the Sandbox Interactive team as a way for more people to experience Albion Online’s world, community, PvP, PvE and social features, along with the player-driven economy. While the game has been available on multiple platforms for some time now, this will expand cross-platform availability as well.
There's one big caveat that you'll have to know if the new platform interests you. You will not be able to play with an existing account. You’ll have to create a new game account and link it to your Epic Games account. This will likely be a barrier for some, particularly if they’re premium subscribers, but considering every Albion Online player playing via Epic will be on a new account, it could also be an excuse to start together with friends.
The Albion Online store page is up now, with details, a FAQ, and more.
