Albion Online  got a new dev update covering the outcome of the Rogue Frontier update and what's next, fromo better early game on-ramp to a new PvP dungeon, and more.

Moritz Bokelmann, the game’s head of production, talked about their plans in a new dev talk. Rogue Frontier went live in early February, and it has been successful so far. The update was part of their goal and continued work to get more activity in the Outlands. “Activity levels are looking good,” he says, including the new Smuggler’s Dens and  activities.

As for what’s next, PvP is at the heart of the next major update that they are working on. Specifically, it will focus on instanced PVP content, as well as improvements to the early game experience.

For instanced PvP, we can expect a brand new PVP dungeon that is aimed at groups of 2-3 players. If you’ve been through Knightfall Abbey, you can begin to ponder what the new dungeon will be like. “This is inspired by Knightfall Abbey, but with fewer exits, deeper levels, and greater consequences.” Given those consequences, there’s also a high risk, high reward consideration to make, as you can get out with the loot you have or go deeper for the chance at a much better take.

The upcoming instanced PvP update will also have a number of improvements based on feedback to Corrupted Dungeons and Hellgates. You'll also be able to access them directly from major cities.

As for the early game improvements, they're planning a new Albion Journal category to offer a post-tutorial on-ramp into all things Albion, as well as some improvements to help early to mid game players.

Further down the line, they’ll also address some issues with faction warfare, including inability to find consistent action, lack of variety, and high repair cost. They also plan to examine how guild seasons are working in the shorter format and plan improvements, like better incentives for mid-range and worthwhile goals for high level guilds.
