Albion Online has a roadmap update, with a look at what’s coming in the shorter term, as well as Sandbox Interactive’s overall longer-term development strategies. What this means is a new content update, and new Mists content are coming soon, but more structural overhauls and improvements are in the works for the now much bigger game.

Game Director Robin Henkys goes into the details in the latest dev talk video, along with a new blog with details on their plans. One of the things that stands out is that Albion Online is a bigger and more complex game. This growth is also what has made the recently-opened Albion East server not just a possibility, but also set to grow with its community.

What’s coming in the shorter term is easier to pinpoint and give a general timeline for. Soon, there will be the Rites of Spring event, though this time there will be “a new, bad-tempered counterpart to the Spring Cottontail”.

Also coming in the next weeks and months are a big patch for Beyond the Veil. This will add features to The Mists, make more adjustments to the Roads of Avalon, and make some additional helpful changes. One of those new features, “Dungeons in the Mists” will be central to this update, and the team will announce details on just what this is, and how it will work, later. There will be another major content update as well.

Those are all in the coming months, but the new dev talk highlights some of the much larger work that will be ongoing and felt throughout. Some of these are efforts to improve some of the most basic features and elements, like improving the marketplace experience and making the loot experience more stable. Expect easier to use features like Repair All, Sell All, and better filtering for the market. Stone market will also get updated, with a rework of crafting capacity and crafting on player islands too.

Expect continuous work on expanding features like new gear choices and a new weaponline for Hunter. New items will also come in that closer big content update too.

Finally, there will be new features to keep expanding Albion Online. Among these are improved spell behavior when it comes to walls or height differences, which is work they are doing in order to improve and set the stage for castle and siege fights that could also include player made fortifications. Legendary Weapons are also in the works.
