Yesterday, Albion Online revealed its next big update, Rogue Frontier, coming February 3rd.  Now there’s a new dev video diving into the new features and changes coming alongside the Smugglers.

The team continues to focus on improving the Outlands, improving incentives for exploration into all corners of the terrain, and add gameplay options and safety for solo players to also take part. It is safety for solo players that is one of the driving forces between the creation of Smuggler's Dens, transformed from Outlands storage posts, in Rogue Frontier. Not only are these dens for the Smugglers faction, they offer solo and “small scale” players a chance to have a base. You can even fast travel to them, without gear, and get out into the Outlands faster.

The Dens feature  amenities like bank access, and the Smuggler’s Market Network. Network is a connected new marketplace between them, where you can sell and buy items. The network has a different fee structure, based on distance to where you're buying from or selling to. Items may sell somewhere else for cheaper, but you'll have to take a risk and go get them.

The devs walk us through some of the other new additions, including how the Smugglers faction will work, how you can earn standing with them. If you successfully get an in with them, and you can Things like free captured Smugglers and slay their captors, find Smuggler coins in hidden treasures or coffers, and recover some contraband crates from ambushed wagons. Keep gaining favor with them and earn some new rewards. The Smuggler Cape offers some style, and it also has the Hidden Vial ability, which reduces your potion slot cooldown by 90 seconds. the Smuggler Vanity Set And there's more on the way.

The video  helps to show us all of the new features and how the introduction of these features will offer additional chances for solo players and those in the smallest groups to have a base in the outlands, stick around longer, and have more options to explore. These additions follow the Horizons update, which added S.A. F. E Portals,  allowing for travel to a random place somewhere in the Outlands (and a return trip within a certain time), bypassing the risk of manual travel.

The video takes Us through other new features like the bank overview, and inventory improvements. We'll be getting future videos on the rest of the features coming in the update soon.
