With the Wild Blood update arriving October 16th, the Albion Online team has a brand new developer blog on Tracking,  one of the  major new features coming in the update.

In order to get started, you’ll need to craft yourself a Tracking Toolkit. Once you have done that, you will be able to start finding tracks of rare creatures in the Outlands and the Red Zones on the Royal Continent.  click on the track, or if you want to you can use the toolkit from your inventory to reveal nearby tracks. Later, you'll be able to craft higher tier toolkits that will reveal a wider range of available tracks.

Initially, there will be seven types of creatures you can track. The first ones you'll be able to find are panthers, spirit bears, and Sylvians. Each creature comes in two sizes, and this will determine the party size you bring with you. The smaller size creatures are for 1-3 players, and the larger creatures are for 4-8 players. Unless you have the appropriate  party size for the track you are trying to follow, you won't be allowed to do so.

Once you're able to start following the tracks, then the hunt really begins. Your party will have to work together to search for different tracks or the target, and members can collaborate to read tracks faster. all party members will get tracking Fame, which is something to boost your tracking skill and as you boost your tracking skill this will get more efficient. If you find your target and somehow the creature flees, when you find it at its next location, any damage it took will stay so you won't have to start over.

A defeated target can drop a number of new items, including rare animal remains, rare ingredients, and artifacts. These can be used in crafting enchanting potions, the seven new potions and Shapeshifter Weapons. As far as the new potions, these include things like the cleansing potion, which you can get when you get Sylvian roots. The complete potion can cleanse damage over time, crowd control, and remove debuffs.

Shapeshifter Weapons will be the next feature to get a deep dive devblog. This new feature is set to be a highlight of Wild Blood. Starting off with Tracking effectively shows how the two features are closely connected.
