Albion Online has a new build guide of note, this time using the Bow weapon line, aimed at new to intermediate players.
The team over at Sandbox Interactive has been revamping weapon lines and has adjusted some of the other features in the game, so while the bow isn’t a fresh addition, the guide should still be helpful if you haven’t taken it up before.
For these purposes, they demonstrate using the regular bow. This type has some enchanted arrows that will enhance auto attacks and work on different types of mobs. Very skills you can get will do things like increase your carry weight capacity, multi-shot AOE abilities that will knock back enemies and damage them in a cone, and even one that buffs food for faster regeneration outside combat. If you're not familiar with the bow line, it might surprise you that there are a number of options that aren't just how fast or accurately you can shoot your enemies.
The team goes into the pros and cons of going this route, and using the bow is one of the more effective ways to take down single enemies, but not so much against packs of mobs. You have a couple of options for small-scale crowd control, and you can dash to dodge attacks more easily. Another reason for considering the bow line is that it's affordable to train and go that route. However, if you think you're going to get into large-scale long fights, the high stand time and the cast time required to work with a bow, especially if those large-scale fights involve a lot of mobs, are going to be really difficult.
If you haven't considered the bow in Albion Online before, this is one of those features intended to give the community an idea of the other options available in the game. Especially when these might be underplayed or not what people might expect.
