Aiming at a Hardcore Audience with a Sense of Reality

The Escape from Tarkov Facebook page and site have been updated, respectively, with a new translated interview and an FAQ that reveal a few interesting nuggets of information.

When asked if Battlestate was 'afraid to scare off a wide audience', devs responded by saying that the game is not designed for a wide audience and caters to hardcore players by creating a sense of reality and total immersion. In addition, while players may "PvE" together, it's quite possible that those same party members may shoot the unwary in the back if they're not alert.

In addition, when asked about a console version of Escape from Tarkov or the possibility that it will support virtual reality, it was answered that PC is first and the possibility of console and VR support may come at a later time, though the devs are experimenting with gamepad support.
