As previously hinted at, Age of Empires Definitive Edition is available now, with Age of Empires II Definitive Edition set to release on November 14.
Microsoft made the announcements during Gamescom, with Age of Empires Definitive Edition available both on the Microsoft Store and on Steam. It’s included as part Games Pass PC.
Additionally, Microsoft announced Age of Empires II Definitive Edition is hitting Games Pass for PC on November 14. While not explicitly mentioned, it’s a reasonable assumption that it will hit Steam as well.
Both Definitive Editions aim to bring 4K support, richer visuals, and additional features as part of their respective makeovers.
