In case you missed it, the recently trailer’d Age of Empires 4 will not receive any microtransactions.
PCGamesN spoke with Creative Director Adam Isgreen during X019 in London this past weekend, with Adam commenting on microtransactions,
“The idea of microtransactions in a real-time strategy game isn’t a thing. DLC, expansions – all of that is things that we’re going to be exploring for Age 4.”
He expounded further that while there may not be more civilizations coming to Age of Empires 4, they will be focusing on adding other things,
“Our pro players are even like, please don’t add more civilisations, please do other things. But we want to have those conversations with the community, to figure out what we can add. What are the things they want to see in the game? Things like game modes.”
