Turbine has announced at this year's Austin Game Developers Conference that they are working on a new console MMOG. The report, which appeared originally over at Massively, reveals that Turbine is interested in releasing the MMO on both the 360 and the PS3, and that the release date is targeted for 2011.
No solid details on what the MMOG actually is, or what kind of features it will offer as of yet, but Turbine's VP of Project Development Craig Alexander offered some interesting comments in his talk on the future of console MMOGs, saying that he expects console MMOGs to eventually pass PC MMOGs, so it is important for Turbine to get involved. Mr. Alexander also hinted at the possibility of the title being free-to-play stating, "MMOs should have minimum friction to access."
