Amazon has announced compensation and a rescheduled event following Throne and Liberty emergency maintenance yesterday. Today, New World: Aeternum also went into an emergency maintenance to squash some bugs, including an exploit affecting Season Servers.

Throne and Liberty’s issues after the update yesterday led to instability that was far reaching. Amazon and NCSoft worked on the issue for most of the day, brought the PC server back up and then had to reverse course and send the game into emergency maintenance. Issues that needed immediate attention included Combat Power showing up lower than expected and widespread instability.

Once the servers came up on all platforms, around 1:00 a.m Eastern / 10:00 p.m. PT, they announced compensation will be sent to everyone’s in-game mail. Those items will be:

  • 2,500 ornate coins
  • 200 trait unlock stones
  • 1,200 star crystals
  • 250 rare rune chests

Amazon will also announce a new date and time for a rescheduled Tevent Archboss spawn on NA-West servers.

As for New World: Aeternum, the team has worked to address several issues after the season 7 patch was released. Yesterday, maintenance yesterday to fix “crafting attempt failed” errors and issues with Ward perks.

After that maintenance, they discovered another issue where some players were able to transfer to and from seasonal worlds. The Seasonal Servers are PvP-themed this season, and offer unique gear that doesn't exist on the legacy servers.

When a season ends, seasonal server-specific unique items are set to convert into something that already exists on the legacy server to avoid a huge economic impact. This gives an idea of what the cost of this exploit could have been if not stopped quickly.

They turned off the transfers at 4:00 a.m. PT, saying that “All affected characters that transferred during this period have been suspended while we investigate. All items that were Seasonal World specific will be removed from Non-Seasonal Worlds.”

Legacy servers are back up as of this writing.
