Activision-Blizzard CFO Fired for 'Causes Unrelated to the Company's Financial Reporting'
Nasdaq.com is reporting that Activision-Blizzard Chief Financial Officer Spencer Neumann has been fired "for cause unrelated to the Company’s financial reporting or disclosure controls and procedures". At the time of this writing, Neumann is on paid leave pending an appeal of the decision to remove him from his position. In the interim, former CFO Dennis Durkin will be acting CFO and will regain the position permanently if Neumann's firing stands.
Neumann has been with ATVI since 2017 after previous stints with Walt Disney, ABC and after years in the private sector.
"Neumann received nearly $10M in compensation in the company's previous fiscal year," states a report at DVS Gaming.
Neumann's firing comes after heavy stock depreciation over the past several months and seemingly after a series of missteps that have caused a lot of rancor in the ATVI community. These missteps include the Diablo: Immortal announcement and the severe curtailment of the development of Heroes of the Storm, to name two.
