Old School RuneScape has released its Varlamore Part One Update, welcoming a big area expansion, new skilling activities, quests, enemies, and more to discover.
This is a huge update and it is still just part one. The new Shining Kingdom of Varlamore has arrived, with a brand new area to explore, discover new lore, secrets, and challenges. Discover the capital, Civitas illa Fortis, and start your journey across the new area to see what has been added in part one.
As you explore the region, you'll take on a whole bunch of new quests that let you explore the history and the lore, in a brand new storyline. With the arrival of a new area and a new storyline, even with more Varlamore to come, Jagex promises that this new story will be self-contained. Have to worry about some years-long saga that you have to wait a long time to complete, as the storyline will conclude when the last part of the Varlamore release is out. It’s designed to get you started, introduce the city, history, and lore, and that’s all.
There’s even a new cinematic to bring the new area to life and give a taste of what awaits inside.
Fortis Colisseum is another stop you may want to make, as it is the location of a new PvM minigame. If you step in you'll be able to challenge ever more difficult waves of enemies to test your skills. Not only will you have to decide after every level if you want to take the loot and run or risk everything on your next battle, you'll also have to choose between different modifiers that will make things more difficult for you and empower your opponents. More risk, more reward. Jagex promises no two runs will be exactly the same.
The Hunter Guild will offer quests to hunt some classic and new creatures with Rumours challenges. There are also some new Skilling opportunities in Bone Shard Mining, Offerings to Ralos, and Pickpocketing. Why just Mining, Prayer, and Thieving? Expand your horizons.
Maybe your cup of tea is Perilous Moons, a new dungeon for both solo players and groups that features three demi-bosses, inspired by the Barrows Brothers. The dungeon is designed to feel like you're making progress and learning about the history of Varlamore while you get challenged by these tough bosses.
Varlamore is now open for the exploration and discovery in Old School RuneScape.
