World of Warcraft vice president and executive producer Holly Longdale made brief comments about a potential console version of the now venerable MMO in a recent interview with VGC.
In the interview, Longdale was asked about a console version of WoW and replied, “Of course we still talk about it. We’re gamers. I don’t think anything is out of the realm of possibility, but we don’t have anything to talk about right now.”
This isn’t the first time Longdale has addressed this question in recent months. Speaking to GamesRadar during BlizzCon 2023, Longdale said Blizzard considers bringing WoW to consoles “all the time.” Longdale also admitted that it’s a complicated question due to concerns over the game’s approachability for console audiences. That said, Longdale conceded that Blizzard being part of Microsoft now means those types of conversations definitely come up.
In other WoW news, Blizzard recently opened up pre-orders for the 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition of the World of Warcraft: The War Within expansion. The special edition offers 3 day early access to the expansion, a statue, artbook, and many more in-game goodies.
No exact release date has been set for The War Within expansion, but players can expect to jump in sometime this year.
