New World

If you're one of the many thousands of players waiting to transfer to a server where your friends are playing New World, you'll be waiting a little longer. Amazon announced late Friday that the decision to delay the service has been made in order to not disrupt its "peak play period."

Amazon has issued a small update to its AFK detection system following reports by players of being kicked for being AFK while they were actively playing.

Hardcore PvP games fail. This is a refrain we see time and time again. And by and large, it has some truth to it. New World is far from hardcore PvP, but it's focus on its player warfare is sustained mainly thanks to its incredibly cooperative community. But can that last?

New World is the latest MMO seemingly everyone's playing. I'm loving my time in the game, and am enjoying the more chill vibe of the MMO. And I think official gamepad support would only make that experience even better.

The latest New World update has arrived, with clarification on recent bans, an armful of bug fixes and setting the foundation for the coming character transfers. 

New World players are reportedly getting other players banned by exploiting a reporting system that lets mass reports trigger a bot to issue an automatic ban. Word is that they're using this to win wars and as a way to get rid of the competition.

New World is intrinsically social. Boss encounters call for boxing out of players in order to make sure you get credit for a kill and potential drop. PvP is king, and everything players do on that front influences the entirety of the server.

Queue times have been greatly reduced across all servers for the popular game New World, but that doesn't mean that gamers are out of the server woods quite yet. With many players and guilds scattered across New Worlds various servers, hoping to play together soon, Amazon says transfers are coming, but they just aren't ready yet.

Corruption portals in New World are one of the few major PvE activities that bring players of all levels together. If you've got a weapon and want to run in circles for a few hours, New World has an activity for you. Bradford has spent the better part of three days doing mostly portals for his review, and we're pretty sure he's going crazy now as a result. But in a good way.

Have you heard of this game New World? I've been playing it semi-obsessively since its release last week. There are so many things I love about it. But there are a bucket-load of things which I believe Amazon must change to improve the experience across the board.

New World has its first update, and while some of the usual bug fixes, quality of life updates, and tweaks are there, there are some adjustments related to capacity issues ahead of server transfers.

On Bradford's server, the Syndicate reigns supreme. So much so that the Covenant faction is barely clinging onto a single region. Treaties were agreed upon and alliances were formed, but already the dealings of players on his server are giving him flashes of another PvP warfare MMO: EVE Online.

Amazon, continuing to work on New World's server issues amid huge demand, is also boosting its tool to remove AFK players more efficiently.

New World has had a week. Since releasing last Tuesday, the new MMO from Amazon has seen over 1 million players hit the shores of Aeternum, and has continually broken its own concurrent player count records, hitting over 900K this weekend.
