When Neverwinter's Lost City of Omu debuts, one of its biggest locations will be the undercity, "an exciting new area to explore" in the game. It is said to contain new, fierce monsters, treasure and lost ancient shrines. IN a new developer blog on the NW site, Content Lead Randy Mosiondz and Environment Art Lead Nate Herzog show off the concept behind undercity and how it was implemented to create the right impact on the player.
The undercity consists of nine shrine rooms, each with its own look and feel with unique layouts, lighting and more. As players work through the location, each of the interconnected shrines will see the player party descending further into the maze towards the "chaotic evil God, Wongo the Su-Monster".
By visiting the site, you can get a first look at several of the shrine rooms. Head on over to the Neverwinter Nights site to take a peek.
