The Mythos development team has posted a discussion of the quest system that the game will employ. As with other MMOs, quests picked up by players can be completed alone or in groups of 2-5. Players are rewarded with items, XP and gold. Faction quests are also available.
To fulfil the quests you can enter gloomy dungeons to teach monsters the meaning of fear, or travel the fantasy laden world of “Uld” in the search for raw materials. On your travels you can also complete errands, save NPCs or use special abilities to dispatch nasty boss monsters. Since manufacturing items is also a component of many quests, products from the virtual blacksmith’s hammer can be crafted from either gathered or looted raw materials. Successfully completed quests will earn some useful achievements and also valuable objects handed over by the grateful NPC population.
