Mythic Glory is R2 Games' latest addition to its ever-growing stable of online MMOs. Now in open alpha, players can join in the fun, grow characters and not have to worry about any future wipes as the game moves forward. So what is Mythic Glory? Sit on back and we'll tell you.
Mythic Glory is, as many of R2 Games' titles are, a browser-based fully-fledged MMORPG set in a cooperative persistent online world. The game can be played through a single player journey or cooperatively with friends or guild mates. With a fully functional PvP system, players can decide whether to work for one another or against one another throughout the journey. When it all comes down to it, there is chaotic evil lurking around everywhere and it is up to players to save the realm from destruction.
Character classes include Knights, Mages and Rangers. Knights excel in tanking damage for the party and suppressing the enemies with melee attacks. Mages excel in dealing magic DMG to multiple targets. They also know healing skills which allow you to build a solid team. Rangers excel in dealing physical DMG. They are famous for their Fatal Strike ability.
Players will be able to take part in a robust customization system that includes the ability to make a character shine with individuality. Weapons, gear, legendary artifacts and more can be collected and customized both to provide each player with their own look as well as a play style that suits them best. Socketing gems further customizes a player's gear for look and functionality.
The world is huge and detailed with bosses that spawn every day on a set schedule of 1:00 pm and 8:00 pm. It will take an entire server to bring these bad boys down, but the risk is worth the reward. Players, if lucky enough, might even score "S-rank" equipment and mercenaries. It's worth it to make sure you're tops in DPS too. Tiered reward chests are given out to the Top Damage Dealer as well as lesser chests for 2-5, 6-10 and for the player who lands the final killing blow.
Other PvE components include cooperative dungeons, mounts to collect and ride and something called formations that allows a player to create a party of four using three mercenaries. Mercs work synergistically together to provide bonuses to attack and defense. Finding the right combination of characters for the right battle will be a strategic player's dream. It's important too as the Memoir System provides players a chance to replay certain main quest content several times a day to try for a "3-star rating" that can be traded in for a lot of experience and loot.
For those more into the PvP side of things, both Arenas and Battlegrounds are available.
In the Arena, players obtain rewards each day based on ranking. The higher the ranking, the better the reward. Wins also yield Glory Points that can be traded for materials from a specially dedicated vendor.
On Battlegrounds, cross server PvP action is available to earn resources, honor and insignias. In addition, armor and weapons can be won that isn't obtainable in any other way. Killing other players yields PvP Points. Once 1000 are obtained, a player receives a Warrior's Mark to trade for various rewards. In addition, the Top 20 players across all servers receive a special title.
All in all, Mythic Glory sounds like the real deal for a "pick up and play" MMO that can be played in any available browser.
