Collaborative Effort Offering $70k for Evidence of Real World Monsters -

Capcom has partnered with The Center for Fortean Zoology to offer real world Monster Hunters a chance to grab $70,000 in cash if they can offer up proof of living monsters. Calling them Cryptids, the Center is looking for evidence of creatures including Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, the Mongolian Death Worm, a mermaid, the Earth Hound, a yeti, the chupacabra, the flying snake of Namibia, the Yowie and the Cornish Owlman.

The "contest" will run from now through June 30th with participants asked to "provide verifiable evidence" that will then be analyzed by Jon Downes and other Foundation scientists. If any are verified as legitimate, the winner will be announced and the prize awarded. Multiple verified instances of monsters will result in a split pot.

"I've spent the majority of my life traveling across the globe to hunt for evidence of these creatures," Downes wrote. "Although I have some successes, I have yet to find that elusive proof and it is time for me to offer my help as I throw down the gauntlet to the next generation."

This is not the first time the pair have joined forces. They did so in 2007 to send folks on a real world Monster Hunt in South America.

The collaborative effort is being run in celebration of the launch of Monster Hunter World. Are you ready to get started on the real world adventure?
