Finally, Iceborne’s new frozen region of Hoarfrost Reach and the new hub Seliana is available to explore on PC. With over 20 new monsters to hunt and a new Master Rank difficulty to progress through, this $39.99 expansion adds a meaty offering for Monster Hunter fans. Here’s our review.

When the Iceborne expansion launches for Monster Hunter World, it will come with subspecies monsters. This new type of monster offers players a whole new experience. Subspecies are "extreme, twisted variations that amp up the difficulty and require master-level hunting skills to defeat". The video showcases the brute wyvern Fulgur Anjanath that channels lightning and the Ebony Odogaron that now has a wider attack range and dragon elemental.
The Monster Hunter: World team has announced the PlayStation 4 beta dates for the Iceborne expansion. PlayStation Plus members can dip a toe in the frigid waters from June 21st to June 23rd. All PlayStation 4 players can check it out from June 28th to June 30th.
During the 2019 Shanghai International Film Festival, the first 30-second trailer for the Monster Hunter movie was shown. Viewers got a look at a desert location with monsters popping out of the ground. Capcom has released an epic 4-minute trailer that reveals the story behind the upcoming Monster Hunter World expansion, Iceborne. Viewers will get a good look at the new base camp in Hoarfrost Reach as well as an idea about a new mysteria to solve. Of course no Monster Hunter game would be complete without a host of new creatures to battle as well. The Nargacuga, Glavenus and Tigrex are all shown to good effect as well as the antagonist, Velkhana.
Capcom has released a pair of very brief videos to showcase weapons coming to the Monster Hunter World expansion, Iceborne. The videos showcase several of the new weapon styles coming with Iceborne. In each, viewers will get a look at weapons in action as the character enters into battle.
From now through May 20th, PlayStation 4 players can take advantage of a free trial version of Monster Hunter World. Players can game with everyone, including full-version owners, and check out the "opening section of the full version" with "nearly all of the story, quests, armor and upgrades". Those who choose to purchase MHW will have progress retained.
