Monster Hunter World

You are a hunter of monsters and your adventures send you to an uncharted continent filled with deadly predators. The land and its inhabitants play a crucial role to complete each quest. It is incumbent on your to use your mind to take on monsters. Vegetation, terrain and wildlife will all play their roles.

  • Cooperative Gaming | You'll be able to take part with up to four players adventuring cooperatively via "drop-in" multiplayer.
  • Kill or Capture Monsters | Head out of Astera on tasks from the Research Commission to study monsters. What you do with them is up to you.
  • Play Your Way | During Monster Hunter World you'll be able to play your way. Your strengths and abilities are honed by the equipment you use. You'll find lots of choices after every kill.
  • Use the Slinger and the Mantle | Every player gets a "slinger", a grappling hook to get to previously unreachable places or to pull down rocks on unsuspecting prey. The Mantle will allow you to hide in plain sight.
  • Explore Various Biomes | Hunt through and explore a variety of biomes including mountain zones, seasides, deserts and more.

From now through December 17th, XBox One and PlayStation 4 players can try out Monster Hunter World for free. The trial edition allows players to try missions up to three stars in difficulty and try a variety of basic weapons. In addition, those who choose to purchase MHW will find that all progress from the trial version will be retained in the full game.

CD Projekt Red and Capcom have announced a crossover event between The Witcher and Monster Hunter World. The new content will be arriving for PlayStation 4 and XBox One in early 2019, with the PC version coming along sometime after. Players will "take on the mantle of Geralt of Rivia" and trot off along a series of Witcher-inspired quests. Each quest offers players "unique gameplay" that blends RPG elements of The Witcher with the systems in MHW.
