From today through November 28th, MapleStory players will embark on an epic journey to battle "the sinister villain", the Black Mage. Ahead of the big fight players can take part in the Gathering of Heroes event, the first phase leading to the epic encounter. Players will join the Maple Alliance and work to prepare the armies to finally battle the Black Mage.

Over the course of the summer, MapleStory will be receiving several updates that will bring the new character, Ark, to the game. In addition, players can expect to find "multiple new worlds and features". Ark will be introduced to the game with the June 27th update and pre-creation of the character is live so players can hit the ground running.

MapleStory is getting a cool crossover event with Evangelion, a popular series of anime movies. Starting February 28th, MapleStory players will find all of the Evangelion heroes having entered the game world through an inter-dimensional rift. Players will be able to interact with all of the and take part in a number of themed events and quests.

The next phase of updates to MapleStory has arrived with the deployment of Illium, a magical intelligence-based caster who comes along with its own unique story. Players can create Illium in male or female versions and then utilize the Lucent Gauntlet to make magic weapons and more.

MapleStory has been updated with a significant patch to bring Nova: Liberation of Cadena on board with a number of significant features. These include Cadena, the new original character, the fifth job skills, increased character slots, item drop notification, new achievements, the Spirit Savior dungeon and several events.

The MapleStory team has sent word about a number of events that will carry you safely through the end of the year. Starting with a new playable character named Cadena at the end of November and ending with a new area called Morass in January, you've got plenty to do for the next couple of months.

As Nexon prepares to unleash a big new MapleStory update, it's taking a bit of a breather to show off the game's history "by the numbers". You'll see cool stuff including the number of characters created, the most popular jobs, the most popular pets, and other really informative stats and data.

MapleStory players will have a literal ton of holiday-themed content to try out when the Midnight Monster Bash event arrives on October 18th. Players will also be able to take part in returning Halloween Events including the Madhouse Dungeon and Murgoth Dungeon. But the fun doesn't end there. All the fun doesn't end there either. Other events including the Cat of All Trades, Thanksgiving and the Maple Music Festival will keep Maplers busy through the end of November.

MapleStory is being updated today to bring the Marvel Machine Event into the game. The event that can yield Cash Shop items, in-game equipment and special Marvel Machine items starts today and runs through August 27.

MapleStory players are being invited in to the game to check out the Eluna event. It begins today and runs through Agust 29th. During the event, players are working to collect as many Elunite Crystals as possible in any combination of five unique crystal types. Each one is worth a varying amount of XP.

Nexon America is ready to unleash a pair of large updates to MapleStory. The first, Override: Evolve, will launch in June. Override: Venture is expected to go live in July. Both will give players new ways to progress and strengthen their characters with new job skills, new locations and even a new planet to explore.

MapleStory has received its biggest update in years with today's launch (at 2 pm Pacific / 5 pm Eastern) V Update that brings in the fifth job advancement for level 200 players. Players will have new advanced skills that can be enhanced or increased in power.

MapleStory will be getting a hefty update on December 15th that will see all classes getting a new job advancement, something that hasn't happened in nearly a decade. Each advancement provides players with a chance to explore a trio of new stories and areas.
