Fans of hardcore Lineage II action will want to check out tomorrow's launch of the EU server. The launch on Tuesday will be for those players owning a founder's pack that comes with either 1- or 3-months of subscription time as well as other in-game perks. The L2 EU Classic server will open for everyone on December 29th.

The Lineage 2 Classic EU Facebook page has been updated with a notice to players that both the Early Access and full launch of the game will be delayed for a week. Citing that the build as it is will not be ready for the originally planned December 15th launch, the team said it would utilize the extra time to work on numerous translation and technical issues.

The Lineage II Classic EU server prepares for launch, the development team is beginning to consider how to name this throwback to an earlier time. Players have from now through December 8th to determine the theme for the server name followed by picking a name that supports that theme at a later date.

European players will have an opportunity to check out the classic Lineage 2 server that will be opening this fall courtesy of 4Game. The EU version follows the classic versions previously launched in Russia and Korea. Lineage 2 Classic EU will be subscription-based at 10 Euro per month.

Lineage II is now a Steam title thanks to today's launch. Players will now have access to Steam unique badges and achievements by using the Steam version of NCSoft West's title.

A new Lineage II page has turned up on Steam that indicates that the venerable title will be arriving there beginning on November 12th. Because of the launch on Steam, players will gain access to badges, emoticons, and trading cards.

The Lineage 2 team has announed that the next major update to the game, called the Underground, will be released on the October 14th. As the name implies, players will be traveling to the Gainak Underground and can enter three new instances, based on the legends of Freya, Tauti and Kelbim.

NCSoft has announced that the latest Lineage II expansion, Infinite Odyssey, has gone live. Infinite Odyssey brings new lore and exploration opportunities to players along with the removal of the level cap.

Just in time for its eleventh anniversary, the Lineage II team has announced that the next expansion, Infinite Odyssey, will officially launch on April 22nd. Infinite Odyssey continues the story of Leona Blackbird and her army with new quests, zones, skills and more. In addition, the level cap is being removed completely. Things just got a bit more otherworldly in Lineage II. From October 22 to November 5, Alien Researchers will be invading level 85+ hunting zones and monsters will drop Monster Research books. The L2B2 NPC is also in town. The week after, from November 5 to November 12, the L2B2 is still hanging out, but no more Monster Research drops. Finally, November 12, the L2B2 makes like a tree and leaves, taking with him the Laser Gun and Monster Research.

NCSoft has announced that the free Lineage II expansion, Ertheia, is set to go live today, Wednesday, July 30th. The lore brings the four original races together via a time rift and centers around their hope to finally destroy Shilen, the Goddess of Destruction.
