A new version of Lineage 2 is now live, dubbed Lineage 2 Essence, featuring what you expect from an MMO: PvP, raids, and "no extra grinding."
Starting today, Lineage 2 players will be able to join in the epic celebration of the game's 15th anniversary. During the celebration that will last for the next few weeks, players will be able to take part in a number of events including a sweepstakes for L2 items, a global 100% Adena and Drop boost event, an Anniversary Day Buff on April 28th and a May preview of what's coming to Lineage 2 and Lineage 2 Classic.
Lineage II Classic will receive its first major update on February 27th. Players will find a number of new additions including challenging "multiple raid boss experiences" in the Tower of Insolence alongside four new Hunting Grounds. Players will be able to prepare for the hardcore action by "powering up heroes with a 3rd Class Transfer" and the ability to modify weapons using the new Rune System.
4Game has sent word that a ton of fun is incoming for Lineage 2 EU and Lineage 2 Classic EU throughout the balance of November and into December. Players can receive goodies, take advantage of a +1.5 XB boost, and leverage a 20% discount on a regular subscription price. New or potential Lineage 2 Classic EU players can also check out the game for free for seven days thanks to the newly added free trial.
The patch notes for today's launch of the official Lineage 2 Classic server have been published. The Classic version begins in the Chronicle 1.5 (Age of Splendor) era. The patch notes provide players with an snapshot of Chronicle 1.5 and of all of the game's major systems including Characters, Classes, Items, Quests, Clans, Hunting Zones, Mission System, the UI and much more.
On October 3rd, players with a nostalgic bent can log in and "return to those days when "hardcore" truly meant something". NCSoft has been hinting around about Classic servers and today they make good on the promise. Lineage II Classic will be free to play "but with an entirely new shop" with "consumables that provide experience gain buffs, cosmetics and more".
If you're playing Lineage 2 Classic EU and if you have a special someone in game, you may want to take note of a new hosted event taking place on February 15th. The dev team will be hosting the "biggest wedding ceremony on Skelth" with "any loving couple that wants to marry in-game able to participate". There are some rules, of course, that ask for some social media participation with three popular couples receiving "sweet gifts" from the dev team.
EU Lineage II players got a treat today with the deployment of not one, but TWO, content updates. Salvation brings a new quest series that leads to an epic battle. In addition, players will find reworks to class balance for Iss Enchanters and Sigel Knights, as well as clan management updates and a new hunting zone.
Lineage 2 Classic EU has been updated with the Zaken patch named for a demonic pirate and new raid boss. Players will be able to access Zaken's ship for high-end gear and an epic earring.
