Legends of Aria finally hits Steam today in Early Access, and with it comes the much anticipated PVP changes. Loyal backers can also expect a surprise thank you from the Aria developers - a full month free sub time.

Announced in a series of Tweets yesterday, the devs announced that Legends of Aria would also be on sale for its first week, discounting their game from $29.99 to $19.79 on Steam. Backers get an extra bonus of one month free premium sub, which gives bonuses such as an additional character slot, housing plot and gems to spend on in-store items when the store goes live.

In addition to its launch, the Early Access version brings with it the much anticipated changes to the PVP system. In our interview with Derek Brinkman, CEO of Citadel Studios, he outlined the changes coming to the PVP to help alleviate the stress of player killers throughout the game world.

What we have done with this release is to expand our protected zone to include most of the game world and mid to end game items, while still making sure the rate of gaining materials, gold and ability resources is high in the unrestricted PvP area. This gives players who want to enjoy relative safety access to the majority of the game’s content, while still providing adequate rewards for taking the risk of adventuring in unrestricted areas.
