Citadel Studios Details End of March Update Plans -

The Legends of Aria site has been updated with a lengthy post detailing the biggest components of a patch that is expected to land before the end of March. Just to get this out of the way, the post answers the question, "So is this CB2?" "No." The patch contains new systems as well as improvements and performance enhancements to other features.

Players can look forward to what devs call "hueing" -- a way to provide customization to armors throughout the world. "Something made of leather and metal in the same armor set, it's currently all blue. In the new system, should you want to use cobalt colored metal in your mixed armor, just the metal bits would be blue." This system provides the foundation for a future dye system that will include dye and dye tubs.

Other components of the patch:

  • performance improvements
  • character creator and new player experience improvements to provide more clarity about the classless system of LoA
  • more options for skin tone, hair, facial hair, etc.
  • QoL improvements

Right. So, first and foremost, we’re redoing our roadmap as soon as we finalize dates. We’ve learned a LOT since we started testing the game with you, and the big thing we’ve learned is that there is zero chance of an open beta in April. I was actually gearing up to tell you that CB2 wouldn’t start until the end of April, or even possibly May. I know that’s a bit abrupt, but I’ve been chatting with the community on our forum, and I know you want to hear it straight with no…baloney.

To give the devs a hand, players are being called to help "test the hell out of these things even though the patch isn't part of an official beta stage."
