Riot's COO Scott Gelb Reportedly Suspended After Investigations Into Workplace Misconduct - MMORPG.com

Kotaku is reporting that Riot Games' COO Scott Gelb is suspended after an investigation into allegations of workplace misconduct. The writer's sources have said that Gelb will be suspended for two months without pay. The information was disseminated to employees earlier in the week.

The investigation has been conducted regarding widespread allegations throughout the company but Gelb's name seemed to crop up more than others. Gelb's name was one that frequently came up during Kotaku's interviews with current and former employees.

[O]ne name kept cropping up: Scott Gelb, Riot Games’ COO, whom current and former employees allege participated in “ball-tapping” (flicking or slapping testicles), farting on employees or humping them for comedic effect. “It just became so normal,” said one employee who witnessed Gelb’s behavior. Another added, “The ball grabbing and things like that—that was absolutely well known across the board.” Other former employees who witnessed this believed that this style of bro comedy trickled down into the company’s lower ranks, where employees comfortably settled into a fraternity mindset that has, sources say, disadvantaged women.

Over the past several months, Riot has made public statements about the company culture and given specifics about how issues such as these would be handled going forward.
