Riot Games Announces Opposition to SOPA -

Riot Games, development company behind League of Legends, has announced its opposition to two pieces of legislation currently making their ways through the United States Congress.

Called "Stop Online Piracy Act" (SOPA) and the "Protect IP Act" (PIPA), the two bills have been widely and loudly discussed by people on both sides of the issue.

“Riot Games is opposed to SOPA/PIPA in their present form. While we do support efforts to prevent online piracy, the current form of this legislation comes at far too high a cost for us, our players, and online communities across the internet,” said Beck.

Because of our long standing policy on keeping politics off our forums, we will be locking this news item and invite our readers to head to the League of Legends forum to take part in the ongoing discussion there.
