According to The Daily Dot, Riot Games raked in $1.6 billion dollars last year alone thanks to League of Legends. The dollar figure came via a SuperData Research report that combines digital sales data from publisher, developers and payment providers and pairs it with "qualitative consumer insight".

Riot Games has announced that Tencent has purchased the remaining equity in the company making it now fully-owned by the Chinese investment holding firm. Riot said that the deal was made in order to provide employees with a cash-based incentive program to make the company more competitive in terms of benefit packages and more.
In a new interview with Polygon, League of Legends social systems developer Jeffery Lin revealed that toxic players will be losing at least a pair of opportunities in the game once the massive 2016 updates begin to hit. Most notably, repeatedly participating in toxic behavior will see reported players losing the opportunity for loot rewards in game that can include free skins, limited time mounts and more.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that over twenty-seven million players log into League of Legends each and every day. The report was confirmed by Riot Games which also announced that it has counted 7.5M concurrent users, significantly up from last March's 5M.
The Twitter account belonging to Riot Games' Mark Merrill was commandeered by a hacker. During the takeover of the account, a game called League of Legends Supremacy was revealed. The information included images of the game that viewers have compared to Blizzard's Hearthstone.

Riot Games has announced that tickets for both the League of Legends playoff matches and the final championship matches will go on sale beginning Saturday, August 24th. The matches will be happening at Riot's broadcast studios Sept. 15 - 24, the Galen Center at USC on Sept. 27 and 28 and the World Championship final at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Friday October 4, 2013.
