Social systems designer Jeffrey Lin, most recently in charge of reducing the 'vitriol' in League of Legends, has departed Riot Games. In a post on TwitLonger.com, Lin thanks his friend Ghostcrawler and admitted that a passionate community makes the game better.

The League of Legends site has been updated with a new lore piece that provides the backstory for a forthcoming hero named Taliyah. Called 'The Bird and the Branch', the story focuses on a young girl's exile and subsequent use of her powers.

Riot Games has announced that Tencent has purchased the remaining equity in the company making it now fully-owned by the Chinese investment holding firm. Riot said that the deal was made in order to provide employees with a cash-based incentive program to make the company more competitive in terms of benefit packages and more.
