League of Legends is getting a new champion named Pyke, the Bloodharbor Ripper. In the new video put out by Riot, viewers learn about his story as he walks through Bilgewater looking for revenge against his former companions who betrayed him.

A lengthy blog post has been published on the League of Legends site that provides a first-look at some big changes coming in time for the 2019 competitive season and some tune-ups of the new player system. Most significantly, big changes are coming to ranked play.

In it, we see several of the champions as they battle their way through ever-increasing numbers of enemies. You'll get a look at Thresh, Lucian, Taliya and Yasuo as well as well-known locations including Weaver's Wall and Zaun.

A professional League of Legends player, Kirill "Likkrit" Malofeyev, has retired after being banned by Riot Games for suggesting that teams in CiS nations are not "profitable" for players. The League of Legends 2017 World Championship, or "Worlds", is going to be kicking off this week with some of the biggest names in esports from around the world taking place. Riot Games is the latest in a recent series of developers taking on the makers of bots used to cheat in game. Riot has filed suit against LeagueSharp, a third party program for League of Legends that automates game play. According to Kotaku, Riot attempted an out of court settlement, but LeagueSharp representatives never responded to the outreach.
