Mobile League of Legends in the Works from Riot & Tencent Games

Reuters is reporting that Riot Games and Tencent Games are working cooperatively to develop a mobile version of League of Legends according to a trio of sources "with inside knowledge of the matter". A few years ago, Riot rejected the idea of mobile LoL after which Tencent developed a clone called Honour of Kings that was released in China. It subsequently became "the world's highest grossing multiplayer online battle arena game" in late 2015.

Lee "Faker" Sang-Hyeok is one of League of Legends' biggest esports stars having been part of the championship winning SKT T1 team in 2013, 2015 and 2016 and strong showings in 2014 and 2017. This year he is not participating in the LoL World Championship, yet Faker is sharing his good fortune by donating all of his October streaming revenue for the month of October to the UN Foundation.


League of Legends Devs Detail Worlds Season 2018 Event

The League of Legends site has been updated with a first-look at the Worlds Season 2018 event details. From September 27th through November 19th, players will be able to take part in three events with "tons of rewards". The goodies train begins with an icon, four orbs and 200 tokens, with the ability to collect more tokens by winning a Worlds Pass first win of the day and for performance grades in every match.


League of Legends PvE Mode, Odyssey: Extraction, Introduced

League of Legends players will have a brand new PvE mode to try out when Odyssey launches on September 12th with the v8.18 patch. From what we know, five players will work together to find and rescue Ziggs after a crash landing on an alien world and can do so in any one of five difficulty levels. The patch also features Odyssey skins for Kayn, Jinx, Yasuo, Malphite, Sona, and Ziggs.

Nexus Blitz is a New 15-Minute Mode Featured in Experimental Mode

Riot Games has posted a new blog to lay out details of a new game mode called Nexus Blitz. Nexus Blitz will be part of the new Experimental Modes program that will see various new ways to play crop up a couple times per year. Experimental Modes program allows players to test new ways to play and allows devs a chance to "aggressively patch" before bringing it into the full game.

North American Communications Director Justin Kranzl told Variety, "He was being playful around the release of this world map and wants to encourage our players to think of what Riot's long-term goals could look like."

100% of Cho'Gath 'Dark Star' Skin Sales to Go to Worldwide Charities

Riot Games has announced that it is featuring a charity League of Legends skin will soon go on sale that will see 100% of the sales proceeds sent to "charities around the world". The special Dark Star Cho'Gath skin will be on sale from June 21st to July 20th. The skin was designed by a League of Legends player as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
