Dave Georgeson also goes into some detail about the major development milestones added throughout the year. Check it out and be amazed!

In a short, but meaningful, post on the Landmark forum, Dave "Smokejumper" Georgeson acknowledges that the team should have better prepared players for combat in Landmark. Choosing, he says, to get input from the community releasing it in its early form without that preparation was a mistake.

The Landmark team was on hand the other day to show off some of the big changes coming to the game in the 'monster update', the final patch before the end of the year. Team members chatted about salvaging, monsters and caves while showing off game play elements of those and more. See what you think and leave us a comment or two.

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that combat has been added to Landmark. Players can engage in combat, acquire weapons and armor and even take on others in PvP.

Landmark players can now take advantage of Sony Online Entertainment's Player Studio. Creators are invited to save their best ideas and, upon SOE approval, be able to see them placed in the Marketplace to sell for real-world cash.

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that it will be launching Player Studio into Landmark on or before May 1st. Player Studio will be available to North American players and to players in specific locations outside NA once it rolls out. Player Studio allows players to create in-game items that, on SOE approval, can then be sold to other players with profits being split between SOE and the creator.

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that after a successful alpha run, EverQuest Next: Landmark has officially entered closed beta testing. In preparation for today's CBT launch, alpha servers were wiped, though players were able to save templates of all of the things created during alpha for redeployment in the beta.

Sony Online Entertainment and the EverQuest Next: Landmark team have announced that the alpha run of the game is ready to end and that the closed beta is just around the corner and slated to begin on Wednesday, March 26th. The final day of alpha testing is on Sunday, March 23rd and the team highly recommends that players make templates of their creations as there will be a full wipe prior to the start of the beta.
