A Year in the Life

Thanks to MMORPG.com's Nanfoodle for pointing out a brand new video by the Landmark team that showcases some of the incredible creations made by players and how the building process has evolved over the past year. In a short, but meaningful, post on the Landmark forum, Dave "Smokejumper" Georgeson acknowledges that the team should have better prepared players for combat in Landmark. Choosing, he says, to get input from the community releasing it in its early form without that preparation was a mistake.


'Monster Update' Video Review

The Landmark team was on hand the other day to show off some of the big changes coming to the game in the 'monster update', the final patch before the end of the year. Player Studio Arrives

Landmark players can now take advantage of Sony Online Entertainment's Player Studio. Creators are invited to save their best ideas and, upon SOE approval, be able to see them placed in the Marketplace to sell for real-world cash.

Player Studio to Launch in Game On/Before May 1st

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that it will be launching Player Studio into Landmark on or before May 1st. Player Studio will be available to North American players and to players in specific locations outside NA once it rolls out. Player Studio allows players to create in-game items that, on SOE approval, can then be sold to other players with profits being split between SOE and the creator.


Closed Beta Begins & A New Name

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that after a successful alpha run, EverQuest Next: Landmark has officially entered closed beta testing. In preparation for today's CBT launch, alpha servers were wiped, though players were able to save templates of all of the things created during alpha for redeployment in the beta.


Alpha Ending Soon, Closed Beta Date Announced

Sony Online Entertainment and the EverQuest Next: Landmark team have announced that the alpha run of the game is ready to end and that the closed beta is just around the corner and slated to begin on Wednesday, March 26th. The final day of alpha testing is on Sunday, March 23rd and the team highly recommends that players make templates of their creations as there will be a full wipe prior to the start of the beta.
