Kingdom Come: Deliverance is set to receive a free weekend coming up.
The free weekend is set to take place June 18 – June 22 on Steam. The free weekend comes after two years have past since release. The accompanying press release shares some additional stats of the game. for example, over 3 million copies have been sold across platforms, with more than 1.5 million DLCs sold.
Warhorse Studios was founded in 2011, with the team spending 2012 and 2013 creating a prototype with 15 employees. In 2014, they launched a Kickstarter for Kingdom Come: Deliverance which saw 35,384 Backers and £1,106,371 raised.
2015 and 2016 saw over 80,000 people play the first alpha and beta. In 2018, the game launched. By the that time, the team had grown to 110 strong, with over 1 million copies sold within the first month of release.
2018 also saw the release of several DLCs and free content. A year after release, the game sold over 2 million copies. And now, in 2020, that number has climbed past 3 million. Finally, the team teased a new unannounced project, with recruitment beginning.
