MMORPG.com: Give us some background on the Vanu Sovereignty: how did they form in the game storyline?

Margaret Krohn: Utilizing knowledge acquired by Vanu himself, scientists were able to create one of the most powerful warfare weapons in the universe- rebirthing, an immortality system that uses Nanites to reconstruct almost anything. The Terran Republic attempted to keep this new found weapon classified, only allowing select military personnel access. Through undisclosed means, the civilian corporations got their hands on the formula for rebirthing. With the already growing tension between the T.R. and their people, it was no surprise when the New Conglomerate began rallying rebelled groups to fight the insurgency. At first, the Vanu Sovereignty made an effort to stay neutral, but as time progressed and the T.R. continued to crackdown on their studies and experiments, the V.S. found themselves forming their own alliance to fight not specifically for liberation or control, but for the evolution of the human race through scientific research and technology.

MMORPG.com: What types of weapons are available to the Vanu players? How do they differ from the other two empires?

Margaret Krohn: With the aid of scientists and leading technologists, the Vanu Sovereignty employs the most advanced weapon fuel sources. The V.S. use energy weapons that allow them to do a fair amount of damage at a viable range without the bullet drop of normal ammunition. Their weapons look the sleekest and even their enemies will go to great lengths to try to attain them.

MMORPG.com: For players who join the Vanu, what can they expect in terms of technology?

Margaret Krohn:  Players who ally with the Vanu Sovereignty can expect high tech and futuristic weaponry both in style and mannerism.

MMORPG.com: What are the Vanu’s goals in the game? How will players experience their missions?

Margaret Krohn: Evolution of the human race through Vanu technology is the end goal of the Vanu Sovereignty. They believe that the Terran Republic and New Conglomerate, if given the chance, will destroy Auraxis with their savage behavior. They seek to foster peace and progression.

As far as missions go, every empire will experience their missions in a like-manner. The mission system is in place ultimately to let you know where the big fight is happening and how to get you into the action as quickly as possible; it gives you high priority facility goals. The mission system takes into affect various aspects of game play – population, resources and resource types in an area, what it will do for your front line and much more.

MMORPG.com: Vehicles are a major part of the game. Can you tell us how the Vanu vehicles function?

Margaret Krohn: Similar to the Vanu Sovereignty infantry weapons, the V.S. vehicles use high tech energy weapons -anything from plasma cannons to pulse particle accelerators.  The V.S. empire specific vehicles are much more nimble and maneuverable than those of the N.C. or T.R., but come at a cost of top speed.

MMORPG.com: What was your influence when designing the look of the Vanu Sovereignty?

Margaret Krohn: The Vanu Sovereignty look is an extrapolation of the original with a more modern face lift. We wanted you to look at the V.S. and without knowing the background story of the empire, know that there is something a bit alien about them. With the technology design behind V.S. weapons and vehicles, the art easily fits that futuristic and advanced appearance.

MMORPG.com: What are your favorite aspects of the Vanu?

Margaret Krohn: As a player, I love the look and feel of the V.S. weapons! I prefer to do a lot of grunt work on the battlefield. Something about being up close and personal with my enemies and destroying them with my gun is quite amusing to me. The energy style of the V.S. weapons really caters to my gunning preferences and style. There’s nothing like a Pulsar in your hands!
