MMORPG.com: What are stabilizers?

Mark Jacobs: Stabilizers are devices that, as the name implies, help stabilize the land around them, both in terms of the effects of the Veilstorms and the magic that was used to bring the land into existence.

MMORPG.com: If the contested land houses the capital city why not just use Europe for your map?

Mark Jacobs: We could, but adding the separation of the ocean/water adds an interesting element to the game, as does the whole concept of players literally knitting the map together through their actions. Also, this means that the land and its connections can change over time through the players' actions.

MMORPG.com: You mention pieces of the map will pull closer together. How can we travel between them if bridges do not already exist?

Mark Jacobs: Players will be able to build bridges, but in the beginning, they will travel between the map pieces via boats.

MMORPG.com: It kind of sounds like these are little islands floating around in primordial soup. Can you please explain how these “puzzle pieces” work?

Mark Jacobs: I think you summarized the overarching concept nicely! These are indeed islands that are floating in the middle of the world. It will be up to the players to expand and knit them together with the other pieces there.

MMORPG.com: You say captured land will reflect your realm. Can we expect to see the actual environments change or how do these reflections work? Will the changing flora and fauna impact our ability to collect needed resources?

Mark Jacobs: That is indeed the plan. As we want to procedurally generate a lot of the world’s terrain, Andrew believes we can also have it change to take on the characteristics of the Realm that owns and controls it.
