MMORPG.com:

What is the story behind the Tikal and Antharas update?

Yun Tae:

The Tikal and Antharas update is actually two major updates rolled into one. We are advancing through updates at record pace so that we can get caught up with the global Lineage 1 product. Tikal is a new sister-dungeon to the Thebes dungeon which was added in our last update. Antharas is the Earth Dragon who has been in the game for many years, but has been re-introduced as a raid boss in a much more fearsome guise with this update.

MMORPG.com:

Please tell us about the new areas coming to Lineage with the launch of this update.

Yun Tae:

This new update has released two new hunting areas. The first is Tikal, an Aztec/Mayan themed area lost in time. This area is an expansion to the Crack in Time update, where players were able to go back in time to Thebes, an Ancient Egyptian themed area. Users may access these areas through a randomly spawning Crack in Time portal. The Antharas update has introduced the first Raid dungeon to Lineage. Players must group together and challenge the newly revamped Antharas dragon. He is much more vicious, but has the same thirst for blood as before. Defeating him will grant the server with a reward map full of dragon creatures to battle for 1 day.

MMORPG.com:

Can you give us an overview of the new dungeons available in Tikal and Antharas?

Yun Tae:

Tikal takes the users back in time to the age of the Mayans and Aztec civilizations. Large highly visual monsters inhabit the area thwarting any player trying to advance an attack against the Tikal Temple’s guardians, two massive snake monsters that players must band together and defeat.

MMORPG.com:

In addition to the new dungeons, Tikal and Antharas updates some existing dungeons. What has changed?

Yun Tae:

The Giran Dungeon has been turned into the Giran Prison. Giran Prison holds the lost souls of all the Giran Lord’s past foes. This area is designed to be a very high EXP gain area, giving the casual player a way to reach higher level content in a very rewarding fashion.

MMORPG.com:

What kinds of new monsters and bosses can players hope to encounter in this latest update?

Yun Tae:

New Monsters range from the massive Antharas dragon and the two enormous snake bosses that guard the Tikal Temple, to the smaller animal inhabitants of the Tikal map. Antharas and the two snakes will bring the players together with teamwork if they hold any hope of defeating them. After defeating Antharas players are granted access to a map overrun with dragon and dragon-like creatures that players can slaughter to their hearts content.

MMORPG.com:

You’ve just announced a new reactivation campaign. How long must a player’s account be inactive in order to take advantage of this offer? What are your expectations for this new campaign?

Yun Tae:

All players who have been inactive for more than 10 weeks have had their accounts reactivated. Players who would like to reactivate their accounts but don’t meet that requirement can inquire with our CS team to have their account manually reactivated.

MMORPG.com:

Can you tell us a bit about the recently launched Season 3?

Yun Tae:

The title for Season Three is “Eternal Life”. So far season three is made up of two updates – Crack of Time, and Tikal + Antharas. The team in Korea is continuing to expand Season Three even as we speak, and we’re looking forward to lots of great new content over the next year.

MMORPG.com:

Where does Lineage go from here? What can players expect to see or hear about in the comings months?

Yun Tae:

Lineage is in a state of quick growth. In coming months we will be working hard on getting the much awaited UI update out. Players can look forward to an update to the Water Dragon, Fafurion and of course our annual winter event which is coming up soon. We have a completely new team working on the game and we’re dedicated to implementing as much content as we can, as quickly as we can. On top of this, we will always be adjusting the NA Ruleset to cater to our players interests.
