MMORPG.com:

How has WonderKing been doing in beta? What type of feedback have you gotten?

Alex Kim:

Open Beta has been really great with all the players helping out. We have so many new users coming in, and the community is bustling as ever. We introduced the pet system and gave everyone a cuddly panda to stroll behind them. We've received great feedback for all the events and items we've had in game. Players have enjoyed our numerous in-game events, as well as those we've hosted on our forums or social networking sites. During our Cool-down period, post launch, players really liked that we stayed in touch with them, even during downtime. We held many FaceBook, Twitter, and Myspace events where players were able to win in-game prizes. But most of all, they just loved that we talked with them and listened to their questions or concerns.

MMORPG.com:

How is the game in preparation for launch?

Alex Kim:

We've prepared for this day even prior to the Closed Betas. We've continued to test all aspects of our game in detail, as we draw closer to launch day. We also fixed bugs that our users have reported. We double check to make sure all bases are covered.

MMORPG.com:

Do you have plans for the game throughout 2010? Will we see a content update?

Alex Kim:

In 2010, we plan to have some major updates for the game. The long-awaited return of WonderKing PvP is one of the major ones. As promised, PvP is revamped and highly refined to fit the taste of all users. We will also have a Castle Siege which will be similar to GvG where players get to go up against each other to see who the best is. In the future, we'll have a pet system where players can raise their pets from a baby to a full adult. These pets can assist them in fighting. However like all pets, they need to be cared for and fed. There will be many other new updates coming, so keep watching since we have great things planned ahead!

MMORPG.com:

What is the biggest issue you were able to iron out with the game in beta?

Alex Kim:

The biggest issue we focused on was critical bugs and glitches in the game. We also smoothened out several quest bugs.

MMORPG.com:

Can you give a short summary of the game for new players who may be unfamiliar with WonderKing?

Alex Kim:

WonderKing is a 2D, side-scrolling MMORPG that takes plays on a wildly adventurous and sometimes dangerous journey across the world of Windus. Players will travel from beautiful beaches to murky marshlands and frigid snowfields as they take on the mantle of WonderKing to save the world. WonderKing is designed for gamers who enjoy rich and deep gameplay in a cute, colorful, and animated universe. WonderKing features enchanting and upgrading weapons, a cooking system where you can create your own food, PvP where you can fight friends or foes, a pet system where pets can be your ally in battle, and much more.

Our community is very welcoming and the quests are as fun as they are diverse. Unique features and a dynamic combat system are presented right from the beginning of the game. WonderKing presents a character evolution system that presents sophisticated 2D combat that is easy to perform, but challenging to master. The storyline is charming and filled with colorful interactions with the NPCs in the game.

MMORPG.com:

Tell us about some of your favorite class skills in the game. How do you see players responding to them?

Alex Kim:

My personal favorite class is the Gunslinger. In a traditional fantasy RPG, you always have the knight in shining armor and the fire-wielding mages. However, this class breaks away from the traditional model. The Gunslinger's technique includes bringing out a bazooka and obliterating its enemies, and doing a forward roll, blasting away anyone caught in the crossfire. Even though I like the Gunslinger, I like the skills in many of the other classes as well. There are classes that everyone can enjoy. So you can choose various classes with your different characters and try out which skills and techniques you like the best. Our players really like how WonderKing's skills work. Our combo system and strategic usage of cool downs requires our players to think outside the box and implement their own style of play.

MMORPG.com:

Talk about WonderKing's format and economy. How do you see the FTP model working for the game?

Alex Kim:

WonderKing is a micro transaction free to play MMORPG. With a free to play (FTP) model, the entry barrier is lowered so that any user can enjoy the game without paying. But at the same time, users can purchase items if they want to customize themselves or level up quickly. Therefore, we basically give users the option to choose. Some people think subscription based games are of a higher quality than FTP games, when you play WonderKing or Atlantica, you will see that this is not the case.

MMORPG.com:

What events did you have for launch?

Alex Kim:

We like to give back to our community, to thank them for all they do to make our games what they are.

We had an event where players were able to obtain exclusive items by simply hunting monsters. The monsters dropped capes that players are not able to obtain normally, so they're quite a special item - and it's free. Also, we made a toast on both servers on the future of WonderKing in commemoration to reaching official launch.

We also had a special day in planning phases called "Wonder Day". It was a 24 hour GM event, ranging from Hide 'n Seek to Master of Control, as well as many giveaways. Players were able to gain a higher rate of experience during this time and obtained rare, exclusive drops.

We are currently planning ahead of also. Having a large variety of events is one of the aspects WonderKing will continue to focus on for years to come.
