PAX Prime 2012: The Future of Online Gaming Panel

During PAX Prime 2012, held for the first time in Seattle our "Future of Online Gaming" panel in the Pegasus Theatre.  Scott Youngblood (Red 5 Studios), Craig Morrison (Funcom), Matt Higby (SOE), Scott Hartsman (Trion), and Max Schaefer (Runic) all sat in to answer questions from nearly 1,000 audience members about their games, their vision, and the future of MMOs as a whole.

Though our own camera's sound was out of sorts, Hillary "Pokket" Nicole came to the rescue with her own, and recorded the answers from the panelists on everything from tablet gaming to player immersion.  The first question was even asked by Ultima Online and Ultima Forever's Kate Flack!  Feel free to watch the videos below and leave us your thoughts in the comments.

On Tablets and Phones for MMOs

On Questing vs. Dynamic Events

On Broken Promises

On Personal Story

On Themepark and Sandbox

On Player Immersion

Hillary Nicole / I'm a robot whose only purpose is to play video games. I mainly stick to MMOs, but have been programmed to also play console and PC games. Games that I have played range from UO, WoW, Rift, Aion, Warhammer, League of Legends, Halo, Final Fantasy 7+, Dragon Age: Origins, Zelda: OoT, DoA, Xenogears, L4D, Chrono Cross, and Donkey Kong Country all the way to Hello Kitty Island Adventure. I mainly play MMOs for the PvP. Seeing as Ultima Online was the first MMO I played, it kind of made me biased towards PvP content. However, there hasn't been a game with PvP quite as good as UO's (my opinion). Despite this, I''ve been able to enjoy FPS, RTS, and yes, even WoW's Arena and BG system. Every now and then I get into raiding, questing, and sometimes tend to become an achievement whore and pet collector. Don't forget to visit my Youtube channel to find my latest gameplay videos: =)
