Will there be much in the way of activities aside from actual combat? For example, are you implementing any type of crafting system?

Sung Jin Hong:

Archlord X is based on RvR , but you can also experience the other contents at the same time. You can have a lot of fun in the quests. The game also has various collection activities, associations, and our production system. The items that players earn during hunting can be used to make epic ones by reinforcing weapon and defensive equipment. Players can also create unique items with materials from PvE. Also, they can create special liquid medicines, buffs and other things through the cooking skill. We are planning to present more PvE contents in the future, and it will upgrade the game play and add more fun.

MMORPG.com:

How significant will the quest element be? Will there be a lot of them? And what about different types?

Sung Jin Hong:

The quests or mission in the game will serve as a key to guide the story. The quests for Humans and Orcs are different, and there will be around 200 per race.

Also, we put an epic quest system into the game. We created it to increase the level of difficulty, and players can complete the level by sharing it with other users. Aside from taking part in the PvP, questing will be fun and to experience interesting elements in the storyline.

What kinds of weapons and other gear will be available for characters to use, and are you making any notable changes in this element compared to Archlord?

Sung Jin Hong:

Archlord X allows characters to use two weapons per class. Warriors can use swords, axes, blunt weapons and spears. Archers can use bows and crossbows. Priests can use wands, staves, etc.

The difference from Archlord is the Orc Berserker can wear a pair of swords. Hunter can use gun-type weapons. Also, it's possible to use the materials that players earn from hunting to make their own weapon and armor with a reinforcement manual. Also, Archlord has a special system that allows to make your own epic items using reinforcing item and socket. Currently we have more than 100 items per class, but we are planning to have regular item updates based on the users' reactions.

Since game will use a cash shop revenue model, where do you stand at the moment in terms of how it will work and the range of merchandise it will offer?

Paul Doo:

We haven't decided on specifics of the cash shop model yet. We are paying more attention to the game contents. Also, when we launch, we are considering not to sell items that can affect game balance. They would be available for purchase using Charisma Points obtained in PvP.

What kinds of gamers represent Archlord X's core target audience here in the west? What makes you think it will gain a place for itself in the increasingly competitive marketplace?

Paul Doo:

In 2012, there will be new titles such as Diablo 3 and C9 from WEBZEN.com, and various MMORPGs of high quality with weapon-based game play. However, there are users out there who want classic MMORPGs that have straightforward controls and a solid storyline.

Archlord X is a classic MMORPG. It is based on Archlord's storyline, but it is produced with classic elements such as its style and graphics. I believe that these elements will create an environment that distinguishes it from other games. Also, Archlord X is all about group RvR . We haven't gathered any feedback from users, so we want them to experience and evaluate the game. There will be a closed beta in December 2011, so we ask everyone to participate and support it.

Do you have anything else you'd like to tell our readers, questions to ask them, or any other closing thoughts?

Sung Jin Hong:

First of all, we are so glad that we can provide service for Archlord X in North America, and we thank our Archlord North American users. Also, remember that Archlord X is scheduled to have a CBT in December, and that Archlord will have a new class system. Please expect to see a huge change in the game. And thanks for your interest in both Archlord and Archlord X.
