MMORPG: Congrats on three years with Jade Dynasty! How has the game been in recent months?
Matthew Pecot: From a content standpoint, Jade Dynasty’s been a little quiet since we released the Empyrean Lands update – but you wouldn’t be able to tell if you jumped in-game. We’ve rolled out a number of popular GM-run events and had players hit several milestones, including the first time a player-run alliance has conquered the entire Territory Wars map.
MMORPG: What are some of the most popular aspects for players? What do you find them enjoying the most about the game?
Matthew Pecot: Jade Dynasty’s a very sticky game, with a strong community and some veterans who’ve made their best friends here. I know of one couple that met in JD, and now they’re e-dating between Singapore and Connecticut. Player alliances have been duking it out in PvP since almost the beginning, and some of the rivalries have a long and storied history.
MMORPG: JD has a lot of celebrations going on, can you tell us about a few of them?
Matthew Pecot: We’re giving away daily cash shop rewards in-game through a VIP system, and our anniversary prize site is handing out an exclusive chibi companion and a set of fiery wings that players have been clamoring for. With help from our excellent GMs, we’re also running in-game PvP events and taking players through instances, bringing all their GM gear to demolish monsters. Both new and veteran players are encouraged to visit our special three-year anniversary site for more details.
MMORPG: What are your favorite parts of working with Jade Dynasty?
Matthew Pecot: The Jade Dynasty team has set the bar high for events and in-game content, and our players expect us to deliver only the best. It’s a great feeling when we launch a new event and players are genuinely impressed, whether it’s something big like the Dream Genie giveaways or adding transformations earned from the Token Shop. If it impresses the Jade Dynasty community, we know we’ve made something great.
MMORPG: After three years, what changes do you think the community wants to see happen?
Matthew Pecot: PvP, PvP and more PvP. The last time we released a new PvP mode was back in late 2010 with the Vengeance expansion, with our giant Territory Wars battlegrounds. We’re working on a PvP rankings system to host on our site, and we’ll be using it to give out hundreds of dollars in real-life prizes for the champions.
MMORPG: What can players expect from Jade Dynasty in 2012?
Matthew Pecot: Everything, everything, and even more everything – we’re hitting all the bases in 2012. The cards are going to stay close to our chest for a little while longer, but you can expect content for both rookies and veterans. We’re going to be addressing some features players have been asking for, and we’re also going to be pushing the frontiers of Jade Dynasty with new improvements and directions.
We’re already hard at work on all of this, so watch this space at www.MMORPG.com and the official website – the next big thing for Jade Dynasty will be here before you know it!
